After nearly four years of speaking engagements hosted by schools, churches and organizations across the country, we are excited to finally host our own fundraising and speaking event right here on our home turf in Salt Lake City! Whether you’ve attended one of our presentations or not, you ain’t seen nothin yet! Coinciding with the clean and classy redesign of our website, our popular one-hour visual presentation is totally revamped and ready for its big debut.
As some background: We, Lindsay and Lexie through our non-profit Beauty Redefined, strive to help people everywhere recognize and reject harmful media messages about women’s bodies and then redefine beauty and health for themselves. One of the most prominent ways we do this is through a one-hour visual presentation, which originated as our co-authored master’s project and thesis, that reveals changing beauty ideals and their connections to the body image and health problems so rampant among females today. We have been offering this uplifting and empowering media literacy presentation for schools, religious organizations and other large groups since spring 2009, and continue to do so upon request. Now we’re hosting our own!

Location: Hillside Middle School in Sugar House (1825 Nevada St., Salt Lake City, 84108)
Admission Cost: We’re asking $5 per person or a donation of any amount you can give. With our new 501(c)(3) non-profit status, all donations are tax-exempt! However, we will not turn anyone away for being unable to pay. All funds will be put to great use through continuing our speaking, writing and advocating for positive body image and health through our website, speaking engagements, new billboards and more!
Who is welcome: Anyone and everyone! Both genders can greatly benefit from our powerful and uplifting media literacy message that is designed for ages 10 and up. Church and community groups are more than welcome. The capacity is about 600, and we would love to pack the place!
